Humboldt Area Foundation promotes and encourages generosity, leadership, and inclusion to strengthen their communities.

Patrick Cleary became executive director of the Humboldt Area Foundation in 2012 after a 34 year career in the private sector. He was previously the president of Lost Coast Communications, a local radio and online news group. He spent 17 years on Wall Street rising to the ranks of managing director of Chase Manhattan Bank. He is an amateur musician who plays guitar, mandolin, banjo and bass.



Humboldt Area Foundation is the community foundation of and for the citizens of the Humboldt, Trinity, and Wild Rivers regions. They promote and encourage generosity, leadership, and inclusion to strengthen their communities and are committed to the following five strategic goals:
