Mariela Cedeno is the Director of Business Development & Lending at Mandela MarketPlace (MMP), a non-profit organization based in Oakland, CA. At MMP, she leads strategies that direct investment into neighborhoods, and support community entrepreneurs engaged in cultivating our local economy and food system. Mariela manages MMP’s community development ventures, entrepreneurship programming, and Community Capital products. She brings with her a wide breadth of experience in community development, business advising, and access to capital. Mariela is an alumna of both the National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders Colegio and the Kiva Fellows program. She is a member of the Board of Somos Familia, a local LGBTQ Latinx organization. She holds B.A. degrees in Economics and International Relations from the UC Davis, and an M.A. in Latin American Development for Vanderbilt University. Mariela was born in Venezuela, raised in the Bay Area, and currently lives in San Francisco.
