Donovan helps social entrepreneurs discover and align their passion, work, and business models to create radical and sustainable businesses.

Donovan Woollard is the managing director of RADIUS Ventures, an impact venture accelerator at Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business, funded by Vancity Credit Union. In this role, Donovan helps a cluster of local food and sustainable transportation ventures become market- and investor-ready. Donovan previously established Transom Enterprises to help launch and grow responsible business initiatives. Prior to Transom, Donovan spent four years as founding COO with Offsetters, Canada’s leading carbon management firm. He joined as Offsetters’ first employee and built it into a 24-person team with a blue-chip list of clients and partners. He has also worked for Vancity, BC Hydro, and Ecotrust, and worked the graveyard shift at a half-way house. Donovan has a Master of Business Administration, a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Community Economic Development, and an undergraduate degree (Hon.) in philosophy.

  • RADIUS works with ‘Radical Doers’ to shape their careers toward positive impact and innovation, including engaging students and recent alumni in courses, workshops, and events that showcase local culture, innovation, and business.
  • RADIUS Lab – in a research project and white paper – introduced Social Impact Bonds as a new solution to providing housing for Vancouver’s marginalized populations.
  • RADIUS Ventures cultivates and grows sustainable, local businesses that contribute directly to local living economies. For example, cohort participant go2gether – a carpooling app targeting responsible companies – won their first three clientswith RADIUS’ support.
  • The RADIUS co-location space provides a shared work environment for RADIUS ventures, other local businesses, and a range of other mission-based companies and non-profits.
