Dave is passionate about community wealth building strategies and system change, and has a strong interest in local finance and community investment. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Consumer Health Foundation and is Manager for Health Care Engagement at The Democracy Collaborative, where he leads the coordination of the Healthcare Anchor Network—a health system-led collaboration focused on improving community health and well-being by building inclusive and sustainable local economies. He has authored a number of Democracy Collaborative publications including the Hospitals Aligned for Healthy Communities toolkit series and Hospitals Building Healthier Communities: Embracing the Anchor Mission. He was a contributor to Can Hospitals Heal America’s Communities and is the lead author of a National Academy of Medicine discussion paper, Building a Culture of Health at the Federal Level. Consumer Health Foundation is committed to building a region and a nation in which everyone has an equal opportunity to live a healthy and dignified life. They provide grants in the District of Columbia, suburban Maryland, and Northern Virginia. Through programs and partnerships with grantees, community and advocacy organizations, foundations, and local governments, they are working to advance the health and well-being of low-income communities and communities of color in the Washington, D.C., region.
