Are you BALLE’s next Executive Director?

You can play an important role in the local economy movement by helping us find our new Executive Director.

Friends,

I have had the long honor of serving as BALLE’s executive director, and it has been a joy. BALLE, as an organization and a network, is no stranger to transition and the emergence of the new. We’ve been in partnership with the most outraged, heart-centered, and effective local economy leaders in North America for 16 years. That’s you. Thank you.

We are well prepared for all that comes next, and invite you to be part of it.

By the end of 2017, I will be leaving my role. I will be working with the Board of Directors to ensure that this is a joyous transition. Please read my full blog post, A Thank You, offered in gratitude for this community and with news of where I’m going next.

Board Chair Sandy Wiggins shared his own reflections about this current evolution, one of several that he’s seen over the years. I am grateful to Sandy for his leadership through some of our most challenging and accomplished years as a network.

There is so much opportunity, thanks to you. Our community — representing thousands of local businesses, investors and community leaders spread over 70% of the United States and Canadian Provinces — has been building the critical infrastructure and ecosystems that can create healthy, equitable local economies. You can read more about an impressive 2016 in our Impact Report.

You can play an important role in the local economy movement by helping us find our new Executive Director. Please share the job description for BALLE’s Executive Director position widely and consider applying yourself. We are better together!

With deep gratitude,

Michelle Long
